Introducing

A cosy corner of the internet made just for artists. The Grapevine App is the solution to the loneliness and stagnancy that so often creep into an artist’s life — a platform where the arts community can gather, inspire one another, share, and create new work together."

How does Grapevine work?

Each month, a Spotlight Artist is interviewed about their creative process and provides a Seed Artwork (without context) as inspiration. Collective members then create their own work based on how the piece makes them feel. At the end of the month, everyone gathers with the Spotlight Artist to share their experiences and learn the story behind the original piece.

A Gentle Nudge Back to Your Art

We know how easy it is for your creative practice to slip down the priority list. That’s why Grapevine’s Creative Commitments feature gives you a simple, supportive way to keep showing up for your art—without pressure or guilt. And because every profile is free from follower counts, likes, and algorithms, you’ll create in a space where it’s not about competition or popularity—it’s about making the art that matters to you.

A Creative Resistance

The Grapevine Collective isn’t just about making art; it’s about preserving the deeply human aspects of creativity that AI cannot replace: emotion, process, intuition, and connection. By keeping artists actively engaged with their craft and each other, it strengthens their artistic identity in an era where automation threatens to dilute genuine creative expression.

This project is not just a response to AI—it’s a celebration of human artistry in its rawest, most inspired form.

Edwina Masson

For the last 10 years, I have been trying to find my place as an artist, often feeling like I made the wrong choice as a musician because building musical worlds was my passion, but performing them was closer to my nightmare. I have always felt like I didn’t belong—desperately trying to find my place in the music community but often feeling misunderstood because I was a singer who didn’t want to be on stage, a composer who created symphonies with my voice rather than an orchestra, and a songwriter who wrote unconventional music that only I could sing. I didn’t fit a genre, a style, or a category; I didn’t feel like a normal musician, but I definitely felt like an ARTIST.

From the moment I graduated university, I became acutely aware that it was my creative practice that brought me the most fulfilment. It was the making of art and building of worlds that made me feel closest to the true essence of creation. Over time, I also realised that the essence of creating within parameters—the very foundation of The Grapevine Collective—has always been my method for making art. Having creative constraints has consistently helped me focus, innovate, and bring my visions to life.

It was the consistent, unrelenting dedication to my creative practice that helped me find my unique style and creative point of view. Every song I created brought me a step closer to discovering my undiluted, true creative identity.

I’m wildly passionate about the process of making art and the importance it has—not only in making us better artists but also better humans. When I make art, I’m a better mother, a better friend, and a better member of the community because it is one of the most important ways I care for myself. It is my therapy, the way I take what I feel on the inside and make something out of it, and how I make sense of the world and my place in it.
